Morphing/Moving Grids and MRF

The Simerics Morphing (“Remesh”) Capability , also referred to as “Remesh” provides the capability to explicitly move, slide and/or change the shape of a solution domain. Complex mesh and volume dynamics can be implemented through user expressions. For example, journal bearings can be added to a rotating volume.

Dynamic Motion: When used in conjunction with the Dynamics Module , the Simerics Morphing Capability provides the capability to move, slide and/or change the shape of the solution domain in response to dynamic forces.

The Multi-Reference Frame (MRF) Capability provides the capability to used to solve in multiple reference frames (MRF) as is often used for simulating rotating machinery using a frozen blade, or quasi-steady-state solution for quick calculation times.
