Webinar 2024_02: Gearbox Modeling using Simerics-MP+®
Date: September 11th, 2024
Day: Wednesday
Time: 10:30-11:30 am EST
The second installment of the Simerics Webinar Series for 2024 is in the topic of gearbox splashing and sloshing. With the increase in demand for Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), the behavior of oil inside the gearbox has significant impact on the net efficiencies of the automobile.
In this webinar, we will discuss the numerical capabilities of Simerics in modeling the gearbox with handling most of the complexities associated with such a system. Simerics-MP+® 3D CFD tool has gained popularity in the industry due to its ability to model complex systems with accuracy, speed and robustness. The gear intermeshing capability combined with the robust multiphase solver has been extensively validated across several different industries and has been shown to produce realistic representations of the actual physics happening in those systems.
We are pleased to announce this chapter of the webinar where we will delve into some of these uniqueness of Simerics-CFD in capturing the physics inside a gearbox.
This webinar will cover:
- A brief introduction about Simerics
- The advantages of the Simerics intermeshing in few different applications
- A demonstration case showing the use of the general gear template meshing in creating and setting up a gearbox model with ease
- Literatures on the gearbox and how it’s been studied using Simerics in the past
