Simerics-MP integrated with Fusion 360
Simerics is excited to offer Simerics-MP CFD package now on Autodesk.
Simerics-MP offers three variants designed for users of Autodesk® Fusion 360®.
· Simerics-MP CFD has flow (internal, external, and a combination of both) and Thermal and Heat (conduction, convection).
· Simerics-MP CFD Plus adds Radiation, Moving/Sliding Mesh (rotating machinery, fans, blowers), Species and Particles (including erosion wear).
· Simerics-MP CFD Premium adds Multiphase, Cavitation, Multicomponent (gases of varying density) and Dynamics (fluids moving a solid).
Fusion 360’s UI and models are used to make all of these physics functions together. There are huge annual cost reductions when matching hardware prototypes in the quickest possible method.

Pump optimization in Simerics-OPT
An Optimization engine is developed and fully integrated into Simerics-MP+ v6.0 for parametric or shape optimization. This module utilizes the Bayesian Inference method for optimization and Latin Hypercube Sampling for Design of Experiments (DOE). It is seamlessly embedded within the existing CFD solver’s GUI, significantly simplifying the process for engineers to integrate optimization into their regular simulation tasks. Engineers have the option to utilize the volume remesh capability of Simerics-MP+ or a third-party parametric geometry modeler through a dedicated interface for performing geometry optimization.
The Optimization of an impeller and volute geometry of a turbomachine is crucial at an early stage of design cycle to create a product of superior performance. One of our customers created a parametric model of an impeller in CFturbo – a turbomachinery design tool, and optimized the design of a multistage mixed flow submersible pump with strict size constraints that generated 24% higher head than the baseline design with an increase in efficiency of 18% at the design point.

The optimizer can be used to understand the sensitivity of various parameters such as blade angles at leading and trailing edges, on the pump performance. With such a seamless integration and efficient optimizer, engineers can generate numerous feasible designs with improved performance in a short time.
European Simerics User Meeting
Don’t miss this opportunity to join Simerics and OMIQ Srl, as they organize a meeting of Simerics users from Europe and beyond. This momentous event will take place in Milan, on October 1 and 2. A unique platform to connect, share, and gain insights into various applications of Simerics. We would be delighted to have you and present your work in the User meeting. Please send your presentation details to dirk.ortlieb@simerics.de.
