Double Inlet Pump Design:
A double inlet (or double suction) pump is a centrifugal pump that receives suction liquid in both sides of the rotating impeller. This is a more desired type of mechanical design because it effectively balances the thrust effect of the rotating impeller. Also because of two suction pipes it reduces losses at the inlet and therefore has better cavitation resistance.
Advantages:
Ability to pump large volumes of fluid.
Application:
Large capacity water/Fluid transfer and pumping. |
