Bent Axis Pump Design: A Bent Axis Piston Pump is a Positive Displacement (PD) with a set of pistons and cylinders. As the pump rotates, the pistons cycle in and out of the cylinders, changing the fluid volume such that fluid is first drawn in from the intake and then expelled out the outlet port via the valve plate. The degree of volume variation is controlled by running the cylinder head and drive shaft about different (bent) axes of rotation. Advantages: Positive displacement, High pressure, heavy duty applications. Application: Transmissions, hydraulics, fluid transfer. | | PumpLinx: Solve Flows, Pressures, Cavitation, and Loads: Discriminators: - Models cavitation
